The IBA comprises of two campuses - the Main Campus and the City Campus. A welcoming and green IBA Main Campus spreads over 80 acres, offers a refreshing environment to study in. The building complex houses the program offices, the faculty offices, a library, an auditorium, a dozen classrooms, three computer laboratories, spacious car parking, a cafeteria and a mosque. The City Campus, spread over 3.5 acres in the heart of the city of Karachi, is at a short distance from the country's business and financial hub. It houses 20 classrooms, the Evening Program offices, a library, an auditorium, four computer laboratories, a newly built canteen and parking space. A new complex for the Center for Computer Studies and Preparatory Classes has recently been completed at the City Campus. The classrooms at both the campuses are large and air-conditioned and are equipped with modern audio-visual aids.

IT Infrastructure
IBA believes that a modern IT environment for students, faculty and administration is absolutely essential in providing quality education. With this belief, IBA has recently launched a major initiative to create a state-of-the art Information Technology infrastructure which is second to none.
The objective was to have a modern IT infrastructure comprising of state-of-the art hardware, networking and enterprise software that would allow quality education to be imparted to students. In addition this environment would allow ease of access for students, faculty, administration, as well as parents and alumni to all key information, and to be able to interact with one another.

With this objective the following major hardware initiatives have been undertaken:

  • Purchase of 133 PCs and 4 servers, bringing the total number of PCs to over 300

Ten-fold increase in the Internet Bandwidth to 640kbps

  • Implementation of a 500-Node High-Speed LAN using Fiber Optics and Gigabit cabling on both campuses.

  • Up-gradation of all existing PCs and Maintenance Contract

In addition on the software end, the following projects have been undertaken:

  • A Campus Management System is being deployed that allows the administration to computerize all aspects of student and faculty record keeping. The web interface allows faculty to provide additional resources to students for teaching purposes, as well as for students and parents to access students' records and grades.

  • Highly informative and up-to-date alumni website, which complements the existing IBA Website, providing accurate alumni information and allowing online registration of alumni.

  • A library Management Software is being deployed that would allow students and faculty to search for books and journals at IBA.

  • The Accounts department has been fully computerized and is also being linked to the program offices in order to ensure immediate and accurate maintenance of records.

  • The above steps along with improvement in the overall quality of faculty in the Center for Computer Studies has brought IBA in parallel with leading universities in the region in the field of Information Technology.
